return to Projects

The Goethe Park Native Grass Revegetation Project was an undertaking by the County of Sacramento to re-establish native grasses along the American River Parkway. Drill seeding followed by an application of straw mulch and tacifier was specified to accommodate the best chance for establishment of native grass seed.

Drill seeding is a commonly used method for
establishing native grasses from seed.

Applying a cover of straw to protect the seed
during the germination process.

Tackifier is applied to prevent wind
displacement of a straw mulch application.
